If you’re wondering why “Take 2″ it’s because after I hit publish the first time, I realized that after being away for 3 months I forgot to turn the comments back on. Presumptuous of me, perhaps, to think you’ll even want to comment… but there ya have it!
This week’s Booking Through Thursday asks:
Book Gluttony! Are your eyes bigger than your book belly? Do you have a habit of buying up books far quicker than you could possibly read them? Have you had to curb your book buying habits until you can catch up with yourself? Or are you a controlled buyer, only purchasing books when you have run out of things to read?
Well… since you asked…
Yeah, I guess I probably classify as a book glutton based on the questions asked. Me in a book store is like that old potato chip commercial … I can’t just buy one.
In fact, I was in the bookstore this morning picking up some weekend reading (like my TBR pile isn’t big enough already) and was thinking that if I had more money I’d just come in and buy one of everything. That way when I want something different to read, I can just browse my own shelves instead of going out in the rain to get something. :)
I should really curb my book buying for awhile, not just to catch up but because I really want to move this year and as it stands the books are gonna take up more room in the truck than the furniture will!
I should also mention that this pretty much only applies to fiction. When it comes to non-fiction, especially self-help and business books, I pretty much buy and read them one at a time. I need the time in between to digest what I’ve learned and put it into action before digging in. I used to buy them up a dozen or so at a time, but it just got too confusing trying to keep them all straight.
What about you? Where do you fall on the grand scale of book gluttons? Visit Booking Through Thursday to see who else has shared their secrets. :)
